BUILDING SURVEY
Building surveyors are involved in the design, construction and management of real estate assets.
You may engage a building surveyor when you arrange to have a property surveyed for an extension to your home or with a view to purchasing or developing a property.
If you are dealing with a large, older or rundown property, a building that is unusual or altered, or if you are planning major works, an RICS building survey (formerly called a structural survey) will give you a comprehensive structural report including defects, repair and maintenance options. A building survey costs more than the other RICS reports because it gives detailed information about the structure and fabric of the property.

DAMP SURVEY
The climate in the UK means there are widespread issues with damp across the country.
A Damp Survey is carried using specialist tools out to locate and measure any areas of damp or potential damp in the property.
There are different types of damp:
- Rising Damp
- Penetrating Damp
- Condensation
Each one requires a slightly different treatment.
It is important to address potential damp as soon as possible. If left untreated, damp will worsen and can affect health.
A damp survey will identify if you have damp, which type of damp, and what treatment is required.
DRAINAGE SURVEY
Survey North Ltd. offers specialist drainage surveys for properties exhibiting problematic issues with drainage.
These specialist surveys include a qualified and professional surveyor attending the property and investigating the drainage issue. In many cases the surveyor may be able to solve the issue on site, in some cases the surveyor will be able to advise the property owner on the steps needed to overcome more severe issues.
In either case the survey report will outline and describe the drainage issues for the property, clearly illustrating the state of the drainage system and if further work needs to be undertaken.
